Big game camps Sri Lanka offers semi-permanent tented safari camps on the borders of the most popular national parks and nature reserves, with a more rustic feel. Featuring a more authentic jungle experience minus the frills, Big Game Camps and Lodges offers safari camps to suit to a more economically conscious traveller. There are 3 locations, situated just on the boundaries of the parks: Yala, Udawalawe and Wilpattu. Each place is near entrance to the park. There is ample space to relax and unwind and spend the late morning hours or afternoons gazing up at the open sky lying in a hammock.

At the Yala, Udawalawe and Wilpattu National Parks, Big Game Safaris provide comfortable accommodation in tented camps, for an enhanced truly natural experience. The tents are fitted with a bedroom and an en suite bathroom. The beds are raised and are fitted with comfortable mattresses. Pillows, bed linen, towels, a flashlight and an umbrella are also provided.

Sit by a toasty campfire in the evening while lighting is provided by copra torches and hurricane lamps.

You will feel the calls of the wild – the occasional hoot of an exotic owl or the soft purr of a jungle cat – while you embrace nature in all its glory, letting go of the hustle and bustle of your daily rigours.

Big Game Safari Camps provides exciting dining experiences, with professional chefs providing star-class food from local and international cuisines.

There is nothing quite like an outdoor dinner under the stars or in the canopy of a large tree, as the ambiance will take over your body and soul.

Have a barbecue by the campfire or dine with the forest in the background – the choice is up to you, but be assured you that you will get more than just a meal.
